Beach hunting

It means that all the good targets are buried very deep under the sand.

What to look for in the wet sand...if that sand is really mushy and your feet are sinking in 5-6 inches, then even the pull tabs are at the 8-10 inch mark....coins deeper...lead/bigger gold....forget it. Unless you know there is a rock bottom that will stop targets from sinking further. Mushy wet sand is a no go. You want to look for harder packed sand, areas where there are pebbles and hard sand, runnells, cuts.

Dry sand.....hard to tell since if the beach is frequented enough there is always potential for fresh drops.

Also...do some research to see if there was a recent beach replentishment.
