beach hunting with the "wrong machine'

arrived today in calif. went to manhatten beach about 2:30 pm. was a little worried because I had read a lot of posts that the
bh 505 was not a very good beach machine. that the salt in the sand was cause a lot of faults. I set the sens at 3:00 o,clock and turned the disc all the way off, not wanting to miss any rings. the only place i had any trouble faulting was right in the edge of the water itself. the wet sand to dry dry sand, no problem! took about an hour to just stop swinging merrily along getting no signals at all, no junk no coins, no nothing and then i started paying attention to where the towel line was, where the spectators had their folding chairs set up by the volley ball nets and where the each cleaning machine did and did not go. Then i started hitting some signals, my finds from 3:30 to 5:00 were, 6 bottle caps, assorted nails, wire, etc, one pull tab, 1 large mickey and minney "happy anniversary" button and 6 Penny's 1 dime 5 quarters, all clad. and a big smile! I am going to Rodondo beach early in the am. with great anticipation! 0h yeah my deepest target today was a quarter in wet sand at 9 inches. Ed in co.

Good depth on the Quarter Ed, HH regards Nugget.

Gotta love that 505. Highly underated I think. Good luck and HH.

Nails? Are people using nails to hold their towels down?
Good to see it will work on the beach for ya.

I am looking for someone who has one for sale, this was the first Bounty Hunter I bought in early 80's, Reply to reguay2@gmail.com.

Thanks Bob

That's great to hear. I have a Bounty Hunter unit here labeled Titan 2000xd will have to try that in the wet sand.

Hey Sky1,
I look forward to your report. I read the beach forum and I was going to jump in there if I could find some backing with some reviews. The Titan series has some good reviews but nothing about beach hunting on the 2000xd. HHing, good luck:bounty::thumbup:
