Beach Hunting Question Have Readings but no sound

Howard Snell

New member
From time to time while hunting on the beach in salt water mode using the beach program I get targets that have no sound but they read off on the display. I usually only dig targets off sound thinking that it could be a junk target.. Is this what everybody else is doing?

I usually run at a sensitivity of 23 and up?

Hi Howard, Howard Dig a no sound target it mite be a heavy Black Sand deposit or some Iron that rusted away and
left a Iron haylo ????????? Just thinking what it could be??? I don't Hunt the Beach to much,
What part of the coast do you Hunt, Let us know what you find out so we can know what are CTX,s are saying also,
Now that your at the top again maybe someone that knows will jump in???
Birds of a feather stick together LOL, Mic

Hi Howard, Not too much Black Sand on the East coast but their is Iron everywhere???
The Beach program has Discrimination in it so wen you find the none audio targets dos your threshold hum stop??
See if you hit a target that's Disced out the hum will null, Next time you go over a target Like this go too the open screen see if you get a audio??? I bet the VDI # will be 35-40 or close too it??? Iron halo or just Iron??? Mickfin

I think mickfin has the best idea........try that open screen the next time you don't get sound and/or listen for a null in the Threshold hum. I betting some deep iron that is disc'd out.

That's what it is . If the numbers aren't around the 12 line you got some junk. I hunt mainly the wet sand and it's best to utilize both visual and audio. Now if you false and get a nice 12-09 I'm not sure what that is . Hope this helps.
