Beach hunting in Fort Walton Beach/Okaloosa Island ????

We are going to spend a week in a condo on Okaloosa Island ( compliments of relatives ) for our honeymoon in May! Does any one know if there are any laws prohibiting the use of metal detecting in the far western part of the Florida pan handle? Can't seem to find anything on the Internet that says you can't! Any help would be appreciated... thanks, ben

aaaahh, thanks John... Yes Slaters hardware is still the place to find just about anything!!!!! for the right price! The r/c club however had to be moved. About 5 years ago, a Rt 33 bypass was installed west of Lancaster, and the forks flying field was directly in its path... Not sure where they moved, but I'm sure that the Slaters boys are still flying somewhere! Thanks for the response, and we very much look forward to the beach!!!!!!!!!! :)
