Beach Hunter ID?

Dixie Digger

New member
I'm thinking about buying a new Whites Beach Hunter ID..can someone in the know please point out some good and bad on this unit..thanks Dixie Digger

I have the BH ID & the xcal 1000 I think they are pretty much equal , the bh coil floats with useing the s handle changed to t handle much better. I like them both. Black sand is tough on the bh you can get thru it by turning sen. down low but u will lose depth, I use the bh in places where the excal don't work . But it's a cost factor also. They both work & each one will find rings I hopes this helps you ,don't worry every one in this fourm will help you .Good Luck & Good Hunting

i had a nex Excal 1000 in June ,didnt care for it.i hunt mostly fresh water lakes so the BH should do fine here. thanks all!

THE COIL FLOATING IS NOT AN ISSUE UNLESS YOUR GONNA DIVE..ITS GREAT FOR LAKES AND SURF.. THE BLACK AND PURPLE SAND HAS NOT BEEN AN ISSUE THE GROUND BALANCE AND SESITIVIY JUST NEED MINOR ADJ. IF YOU USE THE VISUAL ID IN SINGLE TONE THE DETECTOR IS VERY STABLE AND CAN RUN WITH SENS. HIGH.. I HUNT SALT WATER ALL WINTER AND FRESH AND SALT IN SUMMER.GOOD LUCK!
