Beach Hunter ID

Other than the coil, is there any deference between the ID and 300 ? I just went to detector revue and it said the 300 went 9" deep. I have the ID and found things at 11" to 12" deep. Thanks

Marketing, the design has been around for such a long time. Give it a new coil and a new name and make others believe its new improved machine.

Dont do it, the 950 coil will see more fine thin jewelry that the 12" doesnt have a chance at. For real !

I love the big coil, great depth and great sensitivity to tiny objects. However I do use the machine in all metal all of the time as it is a lot deeper than in disc.
I think the big coil is the much better bet on the beach when used with all metal.....more coverage, better depth and more than enough sensitivity on the small items,i've had earing backs out of the sand with mine, although they give feint signals and you need to listen hard for them.

Other then the orange oring and the 00 ,12 inch coil it's the same unit. I did find a few other coils that can be adapted.

Is the Beach Hunter ID & 300 basically a water proof DFX with fewer adjustment selections? If so then one would think most any coil that will work with the DFX should work on the Beach Hunter ID and the 300.

Hi MB,it is bacically the dfx running on the same two frequencies so like you say it should accept any of the coils the dfx does in theory.
Also there are hardly any adjustments to make, you basically have two modes, all metal and discrim. All metal gives you single tone with visual id and discrim gives you both visual id and tone id.
This is a massively underated detector, many give up on it because it can be a bit hard to get the hang of,running in all metal it is capable of extreme depth when you know what you're listening for.

I installed a super 12 on my older BH. also installed a new orange oring. . The unit came with the 950. 9.5 inch coil so I opted for some change. I also installed a tesoro Tejon sharpshooter DD 9.5x 5.5 inch coil on the unit. sure it works but not much more then 8inches tops. as far as depth. Been looking also at the Detech 12x10 DD. may throw it on the unit and give it a go. As mentioned. any DFX. MXT AND M6 coil will work.

Thanks for all the info, is there a water proof connection that can be put in the middle of the cord so the coils can be replaced easier? That way you can change anytime. flintstone

Hi,

Just try this, with buccaneer conectors.
