how many people that own the bhid that use the tube sock with sand to keep the coil down? well I'm working on a prototype to ad wight to the top of the coil that does not inter-fear with depth or sensitivity. I have done a lot of research on this unit be for i bought it.the only thing i do not like with this unit is is the un wighted coil so i am working on that. so how many people out there would like to have one that has with a wighted coil? i will post when its finished.

Whites Distribution Center in Fl offers a PVC weight that attaches to the shaft with plastic clamps for $10. Then you can take it off when hunting out of the water. 1-800-547-6911

Is there a web site for that Rob? I would like to see what it looks like. I sure need something to sink mine. HH Dennis in Idaho

I don' t know about a web site. I got the info and number off another forum. You know they won't let me post a link. Did you try the 800 number? Rob

I sent a PM

The weight I got from White's in Florida was an experiment they sent out to a bunch of users last year. The thing worked just fine, and I modified it to snap on and off with a bucks worth of parts from H.D.
It was filled with lead birdshot, the only stuff heavy enough to give the added weight with out making it to large. If you saw it for 10 bucks, I would say the cost of lead shot and the shipping weight, would be about that, 0 profit !
The beach Hunter was designed to be used in and out of the water. An extra heavy coil, even several extra total ounces would certainly take the fun out of swinging it on dry land. The BH gets the job done on fresh water beaches. I have no complaints after 4 years of use. It more than paid for itself. Using it in salt water borders on futility. Although it performs OK (just ok) the wave action and undercurrents causes lifting and falsing in the more bouyant salt water........

Can you show a photo of it? I called them but no answer so I left a message. Steelheadfever, When I call Sweethome from Fl., I get hooked up to the repair center in Freeport, Florida. They are one of the White's repair shops that have a high pressure tank to test water detectors for leaks.
I believe you can contact John Collins at Freeport via a redirection from Sweethome. He is the person who sent me the weight. I was told at that time there was a heavier redesigned coil in the works for the BH. Gil
