Beach Hunter ID Problem

TheHawg

New member
Hello All,
I just got the new (used) Beach Hunter ID that I won on ebay. I got it at such a good price that I hate to fuss too much, BUT the toggle switch will not stay in the All Metal Mode. I wrapped a small rubber band around the housing and over the switch, and that works ok.
I don't really want to do that. Is swapping out that switch something a regular do-it-yourselfer could do? While I'm at it, should I replace the seal with one of the red seals that everyone says is better?

What do you think?

Thank you,
TheHawg

I would contact Whites and see what they say.:whites:
Could be done right and at not too expensive for you.
They will also recalibrate and check it so it works like new.

I have the same problem with my unit esp because the cord comes right up beside it and it wants to not stay in place. I think it is a weakness in the make of this model.

Actually, The problem with the toggle switch was only on a few units not the model in general.

I wouldn't advise replacing it yourself, my advice, send it in and have it replaced where they can pressure test it for leaks. Call 800-547-6911 and talk with your Regional Distributor. When you send it in just make sure to put a note that you want the toggle switch replaced, and you want to replace the black "o" ring with the orange hollow "o" ring and that you want it pressure tested. You should also ask for a call with the total cost of the repairs before any work is done.
