thinking of buying a beach hunter i d it's about 3 years old. how well do they work in salt water? what about depth with this unit? iam using a CZ6a but want to get in the ocean and try my luck,so people should i stick with the CZ and stay dry or get the id. thanks..........................

The beachhunter is a great machine for the salt water both on land and in the water. The older one has a floating coil that you have to hold down in the water. Sometimes it can be a pain but for some it doesn't bother.

I just bought the new beachhunter300 and I love it so far. The target ID lights are also a great feature on the machine. When it lights red indicating iron it's iron, mine was never wrong. You also get 40 hours on batteries and 30 hours on eight re chargeable batteries, and it has a battery check light.

One other thing ask if it has the red gasket, the black ones leaked and have been replaced with the red one.

I don't think you can go wrong with that machine good luck in what you decide....
