I just traded my MXT for a BeachHunter ID considering it is where I do 90% of my hunting. I have had mixed results in my first week with it. I am assuming the sand in So. Maine is very similar to the sand in your location and was wondering if you might have any suggestions as far as settings go. I find that the controls are very similar to my MXT, but havbe a feeling I may not be getting the most depth out of it. Thanks!
The three LED's still ID in the all metal mode and are somewhat of a help. I also liked the all metal mode with my BHID because you could sweep slower. In the disc. mode you had to swing a little faster to get deeper targets. I've sold mine to cut down on my detector inventory. I use a MXT on the dry sand and an Explorer and PI for the wet sand. I use my PI exclusively in the salt water.
Thanks all! The more I use it, the more comfortable I get. Mass., I'll give the threshold a whirl, maybe with some ear plugs.
I swung the hell out of that thing in last week and this past weekend in Old Orchard, Scarboroug and also did some river hunting. I took some photos last night and will post them tonight. It did better than my MXT in some of my old spots, but then again, I was digging everything that made a noise.
My girlfriend took box after box out of the garage yesterday while I was out hunting... I got home and she said "Ok, you gotta consolidate...". So I'm gonna be posting all kinds of "whatzits". I can't believe how much it all adds up... i guess I got my money's worth with that MXT.
