I read your post http://www.findmall.com/read.php?55,290751,290751#msg-290751 and see that you are from ME. I know I am probably a year too late but if you need a hand doing more research let me know. OK, so there is more to this, I have the Xterra 70 and could always use some in person education on how to use it as well.

I have taken some of your advice (beach is sanded in)from other post and even bought a few books on water detecting to learn to read the beach. Yes, I also have found between Salisbury beach to the North Hampton beach the Xterra handles completely different. I'm not doing too bad though, I've found $.06 so far.
