Beach hunt yields the bling-bling:twodetecting:

Beautiful morning at the beach yesterday. I finally got the 10"x14" mono search coil for my Infinium LS the other day and couldn't wait to try it out. Wifey joined me with her Ace 250 with sniper coil and she hit the towel line while I worked the shallow surf. I dug only high-low signals and after many many pull tabs and whatzits I was pleasantly surprised to see this 14k gold ring. By then I was pooped and walked over to my honey to show her my find. She showed me this monster silver chain .925 that she found in the dry sand on the towel line. It must have been lost recently 'cause it's untarnished. We had a very good day. Many hunts havin' fun and findin' nuttin', then we both hit the jackpot(so to speak). She says that the stone on the ring that I found looks real, but I don't know. I guess I'll get it appraised. It's small. Maybe .3 carat? That 10"x14" mono search coil for the Infinium LS is much easier to use in the surf than the stock 10"x14" double "D". It does go deeeeeep, too! Happy Hunting!:)

Congratulations to both of you! You both got some great finds. That ring is a real beauty, and I nearly got blinded by the size of that chain. Keep them coming

Very nice stuff. If I can get an Infinium that will run more than a few hunts i might try a 10X14 mono. I have been using the 8 inch mono and like it for the short time i have had the Infinium in my hands. So far, Garrett has had it about as much as me. They have it again but i expect it back by the end of next week or the week after. They have been trying very hard to make it right. Some real good people there.

What settings are you using as compared to the DD coil? Also, what do you think about the difference in pinpointing?

Thanks:thumbup:

Hey thanks guys.:wiggle:Sorry to see that Rockpile is having so much trouble with his machine. I hope it runs well for you from now on when you get it back from Garrett.
To answer diggindirt's question, it's the same set up. Threshhold usually between 3 and 4. Disc on zero. Ground balace in slow, then fast, then hunt in lock position. Dig high-low signals lookin' for some yella metal. It don't git no better than this. The only difference that I've noticed in pinpointing with the mono as opposed to double"D" is that shallow targets will be more centered instead of being off the front tip.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
