Beach Hunt Video

Goldak

New member
Happy New Year Everyone! This video is from my hunt yesterday at the same beach I hunted on Thursday. I think it came out okay but I learned a lot about using the camera and editing that should help make the process easier in the future.
I wish I could have captured all the best finds on video but I filled up my memory card before I could do so. The SLQ was completely encrusted and I didn't know what it was until I got home. Next time I find an encrusted silver coin I will video the "opening" of it because it is kind of exciting- like unwrapping a gift.

I know the date on the title is wrong but after 10 hours of hunting I am too tired to change it right now.

The coin on the bottom right is a badly worn "V" nickel, my second in 2 days. I would have loved to have found some gold yesterday and with so many targets I thought I might. No gold but 3 silver rings and several silver coins is definitely a great day! HH!

Goldak/compass....Great first video! You and PI Joe......I can set back and watch now...As you get in several hunts and video editing jobs it all will get easier.......what I do is after each good find I stop the video, then restart it...this keeps me from having to set thur every second of looking for the good finds..also, I use just the energizers 8x with a 16 gig card which last all day long...Great Job, can't wait for yours and PI joe's next...you guys have had some great finds....joe

Thanks OBN, Yesterday I had a 4GB card with me and I pretty much let the camera run for an hour straight. I didn't realize that it would make editing so challenging but now I know. Question for you or PI Joe. Even though I did not start and stop the camera, when I downloaded the card there were about 50 separate clips of varying lengths that I had to splice together. Is this normal? Thanks and HH!

Enjoyed the video Goldak, nice finds. 10 hour hunt is a long time, if you go with a straight shaft you could easily hunt for 20 hours...HH

Cool Video WtG:thumbup:

I really enjoyed that video "excellent quality". I wish i had the nerve to hunt in the water i do have the Excalibur but the recovery to me is too tiresome,i know i must give it a go. I would like to see somebody make a video detecting in between sand banks our whole Beach consists of them at the moment and i know they say in between them lies the gold, but i had a couple of tries and found them to be completely empty and it does take your enthusiasm.

Great finds for you and i hope your luck continues.I swear one day i am going to invite "The golden olde" to Australia for some tutoring.

Cheers Maureen..

Thanks Maureen, I always enjoy watching other videos so I'm happy to contribute. Most of my experience has been hunting in lakes so beach hunting is relatively new to me. The big difference, of course, is that the conditions at the beach are always changing and timing is everything. Good luck!

Goldak, Nice finds and Video! What camera are you using? Also are you wearing waders or a wetsuit?

Thanks, I have a Tachyon XC Micro that I got as a Christmas gift. I use a wetsuit in the water. Good luck!
