Went to the Gulf today not far from my home. There were plenty of people on the Beach ,but the water temp is still a little cold for the adults to get in the water. I hunted for 2 hrs, didn't find enought to even take a picture of. .41 cent in clad and some junk. It will pick up in another month in the water. There are about 4 or 5 guys that hunt the dry sand on a regular basis. Here is a couple pics. of a beautiful day in Fl. today. HH

Thanks for looking . HH

Patience my friend...patience.

Dry sand hunting = heavy suckage :) It's wet sand at low tide and shallow water for me. I do well there.

It is typically Memorial Day weekend just about every year that I find my first gold at the beach. For years in a row now. I'm sure in your neck of the woods that comes a little sooner, but for me here, it's Memorial Day weekend. So I pretty much don't go anymore now until then. Oh, you CAN find a thing or two in the off-months if you get lucky, but as many will attest, here in VB you can hit it for 4 hours in the Fall and Winter and come back with none but a few crusty pennies. That doesn't particularly trip my trigger. :)

But soon...very soon...the booty will be flowing. :)

Nice looking water there. I am sure your luck will change as the weather warms.

Thanks for the encouragement Mike, is Stacy still hunting? Haven't seen her post anything lately. I am looking for some warm water for the locals here to hit the beach. The weather is not bad just the water temp is a little cold, even for our Snowbirds. HH

That's pretty much how it was in Cocoa last Saturday. Tons of people at the beach, but very few in the water. I left just after lunch time and people were clamoring over parking to get to the beach. It should be great in a month or so.

BTW, I love how calm the water is on the west coast, much better than the brick walls that pound ya on the east coast. I need to head over that way some time. It's only 1/2 hour more for me, so I don't know why I haven't yet. Unfamiliarity with the area, I guess.

I live in Central Fl. about 60 miles north of Tampa. In the small country town of Inverness. I try to get to Panama City at least once a year to visit friends there. Maybe I'll run into you there someday. HH

I hunt Cocoa a few times each summer, I park at Lori Wilson park and work my way up to the pier and back, mostly in the water. HH

Hey, that's my turf! ;-)

Perhaps I'll see you over there sometime. I'll likely be in the water too, or in the wet sand if it's too rough.
