Beach Finds

Hello All. Just a quick post on some beach finds about one and half weeks ago. Started mid afternoon and went all night through till about eight the next morning. I usually have four breaks to top up on food and drinks. I search the beaches that have no lighting at night and do the larger surf clubs that have flood lights all night. Tried three beaches and had good return.8 silver rings with four that had a stone and one very small gold ring that could have belonged to a young person with a small finger.<the coins count for the day was one hundred and eight for a total of $61.80.this helped towards the fuel and drinks. I also found some fishing sinkers. The total was 16.i will post some photos of my finds. I will be going to the beach again in the morning. All the best.

Real nice finds there Stan, I take it you are trying to set the record for the most detected hours?

Must say you gotta love it to spend that many hours on the beach at one time! Do you hunt dry or wet???

Hello Padigger. Thanks for your reply. I love detecting and would go at any chance I can. I detect both arrears of the beach from the top of the small sand dunes right down to the low water area to about knee depth depending on how rough the waves are so as to not get the detector box wet. I ure a 15 inch wot coiltek coil and can cover a lot of ground and get a good increase in depth which help to find the ones that are of range of the standard coil. I always chest mount my control box. on the dirt side of detecting I mainly spend a lot of time at a old American army hospital site from the 2nd WW. I have found hundreds of pre decimal coins before 1966 when we changed to dollars and cents. I have found heaps of items used back id those days. My biggest buzz was that so far I have found 5 US dug tags and have tracked down two of the serviceman and return the tags to them. If you are interested I can give you a site and it tells about the general story and a couple of news paper reports from the town that they are living there. All the best. Thanks Stan, send me that link! Sorry I am unable to help with the "KING" id. Austrailia has been on my wish list a long time but it is getting to the point that many of my dreams will never be! I would love to be able to hunt for hours also and according to my wife I do but have not brought home the goodies like you do.

Would really go nuts if I had beaches close by, do live inland but have rivers and streams that are still used for swimming and boating. Spring has sprung here and will soon be looking at getting an excal for the water this summer, have 2 boats and rent a riverlot for camping so I hope to spend more time detecting this year!

I did do my time and then some in the service but was unaware of troops stationed on your soil, interested in hearing more about it!
