beach finds

Hello all, well I've never posted here, usually onthe Quattro forum, but I guess my beach finds would be a good reason to! So here goes. Cheers Angela:detecting::)

G'day Angela,
very nice finds there on the coins.
Our Australian currency sure makes a big difference to the USA money
I cant wait till they replace the $5 note with a coin, then we will have some serious petrol money.
Angela, my final count for 7 weeks detecting while on holidays was 638 coins - $583.86 not including pre-decimal.

It's nice to see another aussie on this forum!
There are alot of helpfull & friendly people on this forum,so welcome aboard Angela.
also have you tried this site http://www.thetreasuredepot.com/cgi-bin/surfandsand/ss_config.pl

Hello Steve, my detector is a Minelab Quattro. It's not waterproof, but the coil is, and I'll detect up to half way of the coil shaft, if it's not too wavey. So I also detect in the sand. But I would like to buy an underwater detector: I'm looking at the excalabar. What I'll do is hookah dive with it, if I'm over 4ft of water. Snorkling's okay, but you can't stay down for very long! Anyway, I snorkle dive for old bottles around piers and jetties. Most of the coind found in the photo were detected from where people sit away from the water's edge, up in the sand, down to the low tide water line. Most of my rings have been found in the low tide line sand. But not always. Angela:detecting::shrug::):minelab:

Hi Angela,

Don't stop because the holidays have finished, hit the parks it's like walking on a carpet of $2 coins and the beauty of it most of them are just lying in the grass, I set the Explorer II on sensitivity 5 and just hunt the surface, I had to get a permit from the local council and they have a no dig policy so I cant dig holes and get deep stuff, However it doesn't matter I just like picking up money and the odd silver or gold ring, and like Freddy says we can't wait for them to replace the $5 note with a coin, I only hope it's small in size, makes it easier to lose.

All the best, and welcome to the forum

Regards........Boony
