Beach finds with the MXT

G'day from Aussie, Just spent a few days at Phillip Island one of our favourite holiday resorts and gave the MXT a workout on the beach. Met up with 3 other detectorists who had given the beaches a going over but I still managed to find some coins,$31.70 in total, a carwash token(Never seen one before), 1 Euro and a gold ring with a diamond:sad: which I think is fake but I will still get it checked out. The MXT worked flawlessly, love this machine:thumbup: See attached pics.

Cheers,
Kevin

Kevin,

What coil do you prefer for the dry sand beach?

Never hear much talk on the big 14" Elliptical DD.

Thanks,
Tony.

Hi Tony, I use the 6x10" DD Elliptical on our dry sand over here, it's a very good coil. I have the std. 9.5" concentric as well which I find is better suited to parks, playgrounds etc. I would like to get the bigger 14" DD but they are rather expensive here, $265.00. One day soon I hope:rolleyes:

Cheers,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin,

I'm close to getting a new MXT Pro with the small 5.3 Eclipse Coil.
I use a PI on the beaches (water and beach) so the MXT Pro will be for all of my inland hunting.

Happy Hunting,
Tony.

Fantastic finds. You've got a nice amount of clad there. Do you save your clad to purchase something special? Is the stone in the gold ring a tint of blue or is it the lighting? I would love to see a picture of it from the top. Love those tokens. We have them over here too. Again, great finds! HH, Nancy

Hi Nancy, the stone in the ring hasn't got a blue tint, it's just the lighting. I will try to take a photo from the top and post it on the forum. Yes I'm saving my coins to purchase another coil for the mxt, maybe the 14" DD, got a little way to go tho but I'll get there!
Cheers,
Kevin

Thank you, I would love to see the face of the ring. Also I love it when one saves the clad for that "special" item and not spend it on this and that. We use to save all our clad and take vacations with it. :) Now we have the RV. HH, Nancy

glad to see someone getting out for a hunt & getting some great treasures. If only I had a beach to play on, but I choose to live at 6000' elevation so notning but snow this time of the year.

G'day all, Well I took the ring to the jewellers today to get some info: the stone is Zirconian as are the smaller ones, 9ct. gold. He told me the ring would have cost around $180 to $200 brand new, he said if I'm lucky I may get $80 to $90 on Ebay but the wife has taken possession of it now so if it keeps her happy, I'm happy:biggrin:. Still it was fun finding it so hopefully I'll find a real diamond ring one day soon:thumbup:

Cheers,
Kevin

Thanks for the info on the ring. That's cool that you wife likes it and wears it. HH, Nancy
