Beach Find

I went to the beach yesterday to do a little digging and found this piece of lead. I at first thought that it was a fishing sinker but once I got It home I realized that it does not have a hole thru it.

It is 1 1/8 inches long. About 68-70 cal in diameter. Weight is almost 1 3/4 oz.

Any Ideas?

Is there any evidence of a wire going through the middle of it? That may have rusted off? Like how a lead head jig or baitwalker would be built? Curious...

I thought that I had posted pictures of the item. Guess my Old brain let me down.

No evidence of anything having gone thru the center of the piece. That was my first thought that it was a lead sinker of jig head.

I was thinking a bell fishing sinker, but there would be a hole down the middle.
