Beach Find ??

I found this at low tide in the wet sand. It has 13 stars on surrounding an eagle grasping an anchor with one talon and something else in the other one and three what appears to be cannons balls beneath the eagle. Any ideals anyone?

Nice find......looks to possibly be an 1850-60s Naval Button......Any maker's name on the back? HH

I could not find any marks. The metal backing was too rusted and rinsed away under running water.

If it had a steel back, it may not be a military button. All that I have seen had brass backs. I'm no expert, however. Maybe someone on the relic forum could help.........

Mine is very similar to the second picture on the post except the eagle on mine is looking in the oppsite direction.
