Im a full time beach hunter that used an Exp for several years. Its just a darn good all around machine. EXCEPTIONAL on the beach, dont miss a lot. BUT.... like any multi freq machine about .3 grams is the smallest gold you might pick up with the standard coil. Anything less than that isnt worth more than say $10 anyway. It transitions well from wet to dry sand and has outstanding depth. She may chatter a little with to much sensitivity at the surfs edge. Its not like an BBS that hates iron when in disc.... takes some playing to get the IM right on your beach. Ive found a bobbie pin is a good way to set it. There are way to many iron targets on the beach so ive found disc is best when set properly. Other wise you spend to much time checking iron targets. I prefer conductive just because the TDI is more consistant. There are a lot of ways to hunt with this machine.... but i wouldnt look for ways not to check targets since gold falls between foil and a penny and tagets change the deeper they are.... especially when mixed with salt water.
