beach detecting

Hi to my Colonial Cousins,
i live near a highly mineralized salt water beach in the UK, i would like to use a Bounty Hunter for searching, can anybody recommend the right machine?

Best thing I can tell you is to check out a local Metal Detector Shop and see what they recommend for your area and budget etc. also Ask any other detectorist in your area.

Just started detecting. I use a BH Discovery 2200 Elite. Tried it out on the beach last week for about an hour and found coins and I'm HOOKED. This detector worked great in the sand.
I live in the gold country, Jackson, CA. I'm going for the gold and relic's soon. Lots of abandoned mines and buildings just waiting for me. I'll keep everyone posted.

Most detectors should do o.k. in the dry sand, but if you are in salt water, the wet sand will give you problems if your machine is not equipped for it. I've had 4 different BH models over the years, none of which were designed to handle salt water. I still use the Pioneer 505 and I love it, but for salt water I use a White's MXT.

imo, if you are hunting IN the saltwater, get a Minelab Explorer. If not, a Minelab Safari is what I use.

I do amazingly well with a pioneer 202 (quick draw 2) here in wa.state.might be different in other states
