Beach and Park Hunt

EasySwing

New member
Two days ago the weather was nice again (just before all the rain down here and the snow up north) so I hit a little park between jobs. Sweeping the area netted me a minor hoard of coins and so I moved out to the outer perimeter to sweep. Just as I was going to stop sweeping in a certain area I decided to take another pass next to the sidewalk and a solid hit came up in the VDI 30 range. Another ring .. a small ladies ring maybe silver with a nice design on it but thin. It is funny how you get those urges to take one more swipe in a certain area before moving on. Ever have that feeling or urge? Anyway maybe God was in the hunt, lol. After work I went to the beach with the MXT and the 12" super coil and swept for about 2 hours. Found a few crusty coins in the sandy area and then dug about 10" down in the wet to pull out the squid lead jig in the picture. It is lean pickings at the beach. I hunted like a dog swinging that 12"er until the sun set, but little hits. When the summer rolls around, now that will be another deal. I read that they will be dredging about 8 miles out and bringing in the sand to fill in the beach area around April. Anyone for a hunt with the possibility of gold coins.??? The saga continues. Thanks for looking. EZ

Nice Job EZ,

Thanks for the pics and the post. Lots of finds there. I'll bet lots of people are envious of you (due to weather) and your being able to get out for a few swings of the coil. CCH.

Another great outing. Specially when I look out the window and all I can see is white stuff on the ground. Ground? Is there ground down there??? :sadwalk: Thanks for posting and HH, Nancy

I hope the posts cheer you up. I went out again today and found 2 rings, but both were not gold. One looked gold until I picked it up and if felt really light. It had the right color, but no stamp and too light. I seen to be hitting all around the gold ring thing. Tomorrow the weather is going to top out at 70 so I will go to the beach early and catch the low tide. Soon it will be spring again and the hunt will be on for you and Larry. Judging from his posts, he really knows his metal detecting! I am enjoying my honeymoon time with the new toys, and all the parks, but would like to experience some deep silver coin finds. HH. Marty
