BBS COILS vs TORNADO COILS

Can anybody here tell me what the differences is between the BBS 8" coil an the 8" TORNADO coil? The reasoned I'm asking is I have a 8" BBS coil an a 10" TORNADO coil that I use on my GT. And it seems to me that the 8"BBS coil is as good and as deep as my 10"TORNADO coil. So what I'm really asking is would the 8" TORNADO coil be an upgrade to the BBS 8" COIL?

the tornado coils are lighter as they are not as thick. they glide through the water a little easier because of this.
also, I forget which one, but the ears where the lower rod connects were moved closer to center to balance the coil better.
actual performance wise the tornado coils are a little more sensitive to smaller conductors.

the weight alone makes them a good upgrade. any weight you can shave off the end of the rod is always a good :clapping:

Buggar,I have had a few of the newer 800 BBS coils before they went to the 800 Tornado and these coils are close to performance. The older BBS coils form my observation didn't perform that well.If you are pleased with your BBS 800 coil performance it might be a newer model and just keep it and wait for a deal on a 800 Tornado and sell the BBS coil to help lower the cost.HH Ron
