Battleship Cove Boasts "The Worlds largest collection of Historic Naval Ships". There is,floating, The Battleship,USS Massachusetts, Attack Submarine, USS Lionfish ,Destroyer, USS Joseph P.Kennedy Jr.,and a Soviet-built Missle Corvette,Hiddensee. Drydocked, inside,Two PT Boats, PT796 and PT617,along with a Japanese 2 man Sub,and planes, and Choppers. This place is AWESOME![attachment 48849 BattleshipCove001.jpg] Here is PT 796,with the fancy dental work.[attachment 48850 BattleshipCove024.jpg]She is wood,as were all PT boats. She was manufactured by Higgins, one of only two makers.[attachment 48851 BattleshipCove014.jpg]Length is 78',powered by 3 engines.True fact: PT 796,was exhibited during President Kennedy's Inaugural Parade,The Hull number was painted "109" for this exhibit only! Next we have the stern of PT617. She was manufactured by the other company,ELCO. Also driven by 3 engines.I don't know how many of these babys are left in the world. After the War,most were Burnt![attachment 48853 BattleshipCove012.jpg] (The photo showing the grey deck, and Helm belongs to PT796) Note the smooth decks? No Handrails or cables! LOCATED on The BATTLESHIP,there is an extensive musueum, full of crew photo's,artifacts etc. We spent so much time looking at the museum,we didn't have time to visit the Sub,or the Russian vessel! However we will return!!!

something about Battleship Overnighters... does that mean you can stay on board overnight?? That would be fun! Great pics buddy!

If ya ever get the chance, I highly reccomend the Disney cruise line. They run a first class ship. Deb got to see a little of what a third world country looks like while we were in Mexico. Had a great time but it was over much too fast!
