Battled the ticks again.................:starwars:

I got stronger deet this time, but I still got ticks.:ranting:

But non in the eye this time.............

It was so humid that it was like a steam bath. Arkie Land

gets that way down here.

Needless to say I didn't hunt long. I did manage to follow

a couple of old roads and see where they went. The roads

have been abandoned so long, there are 12" oak and other

hardwoods growing in them.

I found a thing that is similar to a stove burner. But it is not.
It may be part of a 19th century pressure gauge. I also found
two more of those brass nozzles with little holes. I found a
mule shoe, some square nails, an old ax head, couple of
bullets and shotgun shell casings and an automobile emblem.
There is a 32 cal pistol ball. Or it may be buck shot, maybe.
It's on the automobile emblem. There is also a broken off iron
pointer. Fairly large.

I left the rest of the finds to the ticks and ants.

HH,

It wasn't that hot, mid 80's, but the humidity was tough and we had a couple of bad storms late today. So far the ticks haven't been as bad as they usually are by this time, hope it stays that way. I like finding old ax heads, have several in a box somewhere in the utilitity building:). Stick with that site and a few old coins should surface.

Hey Tabdog, nice finds! Here is a site to help date shotgun shells, this is a shell I found the other day in a park,it is a rem-umc 12 GA. shure-shot, it dates between 1911 and 1934 sometimes it helps to date area's you hunt. Good luck and HH--Kurt

Hey Tabdog nice finds! I can not imagine hunting in the kind of humidity so soon. I mean we get it but more so in July, august. Good on you for going out, Beale.
