i got a new x-1 probe and a WOT now my 2 1600 mah batterys and my battery pack with 2300 mha batterys are only lasting about 3 hours ?any suggestions?

If they are new they are not conditioned as yet. Each time you charge them, they obtain a longer duty cycle. I don't know how many times charging it takes them to peak out. I think I read somewhere after a few charges they reach their full capacity.

You have to fully charge and fully discharge 5-6 times before the reach maximum perforance. Batteries just sitting around doing nothing will lose 1-3% of their charge naturally! You should always charge your battery if it has not been in use for 60-80 days also. If longer than 60-80 days then you will have to do the charge / discharge thing all over again!

Using headphones and backlight off I have gotten around the 14 hours shown in the manual for the NiMh battery. This was after the first full charging of the batteries. I am still getting that same performance after 18 months.
If you are only getting 3 hours of battery life (using headphones and backlight off), then I suspect that there is something wrong. Is the 3 hour performance with a new Explorer or has it degenerated over a longer time?

i use headphones with back light off ,was able to hunt all day on my battery packs untill i put the WOT and x-1 probe on,do they use that much more juice or do you think something is wrong with one of them anyone else ever had this problem?

your stock accessories for an outing, then narrow it down to one of the two if going stock makes a difference.
