I would like to know so on the battery rechargable, one could put instead of the batteries alkali sticks, while removing the battery from origin.

You cannot replace the NiMH innards with Alkali "sticks". The battery charger is specifically designed to charge the stock pack only. Why not use the second battery pack?

The rechargeable battery uses a soldered battery pack. It is missing some of the contacts you would need to to put batteries in. A rechargeable pack can be built using the alkaline pack. All you need to get is a thermistor. Do a search, the instructions are in an early post on this forum. The advantage is you can use the 2500 mah batteries with a higher self discharge rate or 200 mah Enloupes which have a low self discharge rate.

The rechargeable pack can be rebuilt using batteries with tabs. I even built a 9 cell 2500 mah pack, but there is no need for this, just keeping busy. Rob

Hi Guys,
Sanyo have just realeased a new range of eneloope batteries which are 2500 up from the 2000 and extended the charge from 1000 to1500 times.

" These up-rated and macho-designed batteries start shipping in Europe in December and, while no price has yet been assigned, given the number of times Sanyo mentions "professional" in its press release (six) they probably won't be cheap.

The Eneloope batteries are great for their low self discharge rate, but for most of us who charge our packs before hunting is it worth the cost for the LSDR. My Energizer 2500's that are over 4 years old are still going strong. I keep a alkaline pack as a back up but have never needed it.
