battery voltage for cz-5

My cz-5 was having operational problems with no sound except a crackle when turning off.I took out the batteries and checked them with my multimeter. They both read 8.24 volts.Should the cz-5 shut down with 8.24 VDC?

No, I'm not sure of the exact dropout point but 8.24 is not it. These machines work for hours on rechargeables that are actually 8.4V batts instead of 9.
Another possibility is that the voltage of the batts is rebounding when you take them out of the machine. Their voltage will be slightly lower under load (machine turned on). If they're bad, it would way lower under load. The only way to be sure is to replace them and see what happens.

Certainly no battery expert but under strain turned on will not give the juice of just testing them. Of course the easiest way is to put a new set in. Pinpointing seems to draws the most power so if it pinpoints correctly you have other problems and might want to call Fisher.I have been very lucky over the years but even Fishers fail now and then..

Kinda found the problem. After buying new batteries and the cz-5 still not working.I slapped the box with my hand and it started working again.Go figure!
