Battery strength and depth

This question is more directed to a Tesoro tech, but...
On the Tejon:
At what point does the Tejon start to lose depth (in the ground not air test) due to discharged batteries? (voltage readings verses beeps)

It would be good to know what the voltage regulator output is for the circuit.

I know I run mine far too long, but I'm just a surface hunter. Mostly clad.
I'd put in fresh batteries if I was going someplace that could be good, or new to me.

Hmmm. Today I dug a pulltab from 5" and a foil thingy from a beverage cap that was down 6".
Not a clue how they got that deep! Oh well...

I read somewhere not long ago, maybe on the Geotech forum, that Tesoros that use 9 volt batteries have a voltage regulator that puts out 6 volts. I know for sure the Discovery Treasure Barons, which use 8 AA's for 12 volts, have a regulator that puts out 8 volts so percentage wise the 6 volt number, 2/3's of battery voltage, would be in line with the Barons output.
