Battery saving tips for CZ20-21 users

I have been metal detecting since 1993 and do mostly beach and shallow water hunting using the CZ-20 for over 10yrs, and found it to be an excellent beach hunting machine. I use mainly autotune for my main hunting mode, and then switching to low disc. to check for iron and to figure out what the signal might be. Anyway I found that it was just as easy and quicker to use the autotune to pinpoint the target by bobbing the coil over it until centering over the loudest sound area. I found this to be just as accurate as using the pinpoint button and that this method really saved on battery usage, [I would say at least doubled]. This method could be used for inland hunting, but the VCO pinpoint is probably more accurate in this situation.

For some reason the VCO uses a lot of juice and especially in your situation where your digging with a shovel or large water scoop don't have to be that accurate and can easily X the target and greatly reduce your battery consumption on any CZ..Land or Water model...Also works well for shallow targets on land but for deep silver VCO is a must for an accurate pinpoint..
