Battery rebuild question

Ohio Digger

New member
I plan on rebuilding the rechargeable battery pack for my DFX. It's just not holding a useable charge long enough. Maybe about 4-5 hrs tops. I understand the stock rechargeable pack are 9.6v NiCD batteries. If I use NiMH can I still use the stock charger? I believe I can, it might just take longer to fully charge. Has anyone done this with any success? What kind of use have you been able to get from the rebuild?

I think you are in the second category, 48hrs.

Not recommended.............. a lot of things can go wrong. Here is a good read on the topic. http://www.greenbatteries.com/bachfa.html

Much better to simply buy new high end rechargeable batteries with matching charger and adapt the case to allow you to charge them as a unit.
