Battery Question Ace 250

Hey guys....When detecting with your ace 250, do you guys wait until you are down to one or two bars before changing the batteries ? Or do you wait until just one bar is gone ? Ive noticed the detector may not work as well if it is not 100% charged...When do you guys change your batteries ?
Thanks.
Sincerely.

:usaflag:I can run my Ace 250 until there is one bar, and then I will change them. I've never seen a decrease in performance doing this. Although it may vary from machine to machine..don't know why it would though.

Ditto what McDave said. Mine seems to run with no apparent problems down to 1 bar. I change out all 4 when it gets down to 1 bar just cuz I don't wanta get left high n dry out in the field. If I started changing out just 1 or 2 of em, not sure I could keep it all straight and know which ones to swap out next.

If I'm running rechargables, I'll swap them for a fresh set (of rechargables) well after losing 1 bar, but before losing the 2nd. If I'm using throw-aways, I'll swap them out after 2 bars are gone, but before losing the 3rd one, then these batteries see the remainder of their life in one of my small mag-lites or in my digital camera.

Yeah and using headphones more than doubles battery life. The speaker sucks up the most juice of anything on the detector.
