Battery pod died on excalibur how to fix or send it in

When mine fail(not alkaline), I ship them off to Vegas and they reload them with NiMH inserts. Call to see how much it is, 1st though. I did all mine under warranty. All my warranty is expired now though.

Don't know if this will help or not but I found a site that offers the 2700 mah for around 40 bucks. I believe its called Onlybatterypacks. You can Google it. Here are the instructions they give for doing it yourself:

1) You must carefully remove the black soft plastic end cover that is glued to the
battery pod.
2) Carefully insert a heavy paper clip that has been straightened out and bent in
half between the cover and pod, moving it around to break the glue

I got 2x 1400mah from onlybatterrypacks and also the charger and short adapter, the 2700mah is only 9v rather than 12v, the charger will do the job in about 2 hours
Its an easy job to change the packs, make sure you put a bit of silicone grease on the new pack to help get it in, one was a bit tight as the outer shrunk wrap on the new pod was a bit out of line

I took both of my Excaliber battery packs and had them re-built at Interstate Batteries. They upgraded to Nimh Batteries. They also gave me a 40% discount. I believe I might have a coupon by email today. I think I spent about $ 65.00 ( for 2) for the Soverign XS Pro packs and ( for1) Excaliber. I bought a New waterproof Excaliber Battery pack from Minelab ( out of warranty ) and they sent me back the old one from the Excaliber. I'm up to about 12 hours now on the new Excaliber packs.--goldnugget-Charlotte,N.C.
