Battery & Mode questions

Of course I get my new CTX 3030, Thanks Big boys Hobbies, and it is pouring down rain. I have been familiarizing myself with the settings and attempting to add Gonehunting's setup as a new mode. My first question is about the battery and charging system. I left the battery in the charger cradle yesterday until the light quit flashing and was solid green. When I put the battery in the detector the battery icon shows red half not full charge? I left the battery in the charger over night and it still just shows, in the 3030, a battery icon with half charge and red.

Second is the modes. I first set Gonehunting's setup in the 3030 manually and saved it as a new mode(Mode 6). I then loaded the Xchange2 software and noticed it doesn't show the new Mode 6 in the list on the left. I created a new mode in the Xchange2 software with Gonehunting's setup and saved it which shows in the Xchange2 app, but not on the CTX 3030.

Thanks

Drag the mode to All from CTX or vice versa, then unplug the CTX from the usb. I had a problem getting the modes onto the CTX at first because I was turning it off before disconnecting it

OK the Xchange2 problem was a problem with my PC USB hardware. I noticed my Xchange2 app didn't show the CTX3030 collection as expected. I rebooted my PC and everything worked fine.

Now, the battery. Here is a picture showing the battery state icon on my CTX after an overnight charge. The charging station seemed to work as expect. After about 4 hours yesterday it showed solid green. I guess I'll check and see how long the batter actually lasts.

Try some alkaline AA's just to see if your meter is off, They won't show 100% but almost.

I've been using Eneloops in my CTX since it arrived. They don't self discharge like regular nimh batteries. They are the best AA batteries you can buy IMO.

I charge mine with a MAHA C9000 charger, known all around the electronic world to be the "best aa charger"

The C9000 charger will actually show you the capacity of your batteries in MAH, you can charge, discharge, refresh, and break-in batteries.

If you simply want the best batteries and best charger, I would go with that setup. I own 50+ eneloop AA's and two of the C9000 chargers. They simply can't be beat.

Did youy say the red light on your charger flashes when you put the battery in to charge it? Mine does that, too, and the manual says that the flashing light indicates a 'charging error'. I plan to call Minelab and see what's up Monday.

Everytime I try to help someone and post a link to something that could solve a problem, the moderators remove my post, or remove my links.

Guess I won't post links anymore or try and help anyone.

The bottom(power) light is solid green and the one above it blinks green when I first put it in. After a few hours the above light that was flashing goes solid green.

Is there a AA battery pack? I didn't see one, but I'll check again.

I don't go through the posts and randomly select some to move or delete. I respond to the emails I get from sponsoring dealers and manufacturers. Your posts that have been deleted or moved to another forum have either included products not sold by the sponsoring dealers, or you included links to a non-sponsoring online website where folks could buy a product that competes against them. Now ask yourself, if you were paying Findmall money to advertise your products on this site, wouldn't you be upset if someone not paying to sponsor the forum gets free advertising and links to their home website? It's your call........keep posting and follow the rules. Or keep doing what you've been doing and get your posts removed.

Thanks. I'm color blind - maybe it's the green light that is flashing. I'll ask the wife!

I don't think it comes with a AA battery pack.

I think the starter pack does not come with the WM-10 and the extra AA pack for a couple hundred less than the standard pack.
