What is the average battery life for the ace 250?

Between 40 and 50 hours for alkaline batteries. Rechargeables don't last nearly as long, but save $ in the long run 'cause they can be recharged hundreds of times. Remember, while using regular alkaline batteries and the battery indicater gets down to one bar it's time to change batteries. However, most of the time it's just one of the batteries that is low. So, it's best to have an inexpensive battery tester and check each battery. Replace the one that needs replacing rather than trashing all four batteries and putting four brand new batteries in. Also, (FYI)never staore the machine for any length of time with batteries in it.

Depends on whether you use earphones or not. The speaker sucks up the most juice. With earphones you can get 30-40 hours on a set of good alkalines and a little less on good rechargeables.

Type of alkaline(not all the same) number of targets you hit, how often do you pinpoint and of course wearing headphones is a plus..Guesstimate on the average 30 hrs plus in most cases...

I get 45 -55 hours on my rechargables. Alkaline never last as long for me know matter the brand. 35-40 tops. Plus you get higher voltage for longer period of time than alkaline.

I probably get about 30 hours. When I have removed them and checked on a digital meter each battery was equally low (about 1.35 volts). New alkalines read in at 1.6+ volts.
I did this test several times as I also had heard that only 1 cell is weaker. So when using alkalines I suggest you change all 4.
