Battery Life using a larger coil.

wrong way ron

New member
Using a larger coil does it consume battery life faster??? New to the sport LOL. I call medal detecting a sport so my wife stays off my back but she's not falling for it. I swing a coil better than some MLB players swing a bat.

I can't tell any difference between coil size and battery use, I don't think it does!.........

I haven't noticed any difference either. Maybe your wife would like to join you in detecting? Hey, I go out with Larry and I still keep my hands pretty darn clean! (long nails and all) :twodetecting: HH, Nancy

I've never heard of a battey problem concerning coil size. Any coil is just a send and receive antenna, it's the box and speaker/headphones than actually use the current.
