Battery compartment on Excal with water in it

Waterdog

Well-known member
I just recently went to recharge my batteries on the Excalibur and noticed moisture in the rechargeable battery compartment. I opened it and water came out. Can I just dry it out, reseal it, and recharge it? Trying not to buy another Rechargeable battery...:(

Make sure there are no cracks on battery pod, maybe o-ring is cut. Rinse out good with fresh water and dry, free of moisture. Don't know how batteries will be effected if submerged in water. If you are going to charge batteries might be a good idea to do it outside and cover them incase something goes wrong. If no cracks on pod be sure o-ring is good or replace it, put electrical silicone grease on o-ring before installing. Also, need to put some silicone pads inside to absorb moisture. If battery pod is cracked you may need a new one unless you don't plan on going in water. Good luck. HH

Got a couple pics of your pot, sometimes also the ikelite endcap will have hairline cracks, I have seen this several times and also on a excalibur pod where the hunter used the endcap for the headphones, it had a crack, and shorted the board.
