The 3D manual says to change battery's when the needle falls into the gray shaded zone .
Do you agree with that or something else. Thanks Mike

I have always ran mine till they are dead or rite at the edge of it with that real low tone. I always keep a 2 pack in my car or in my pouch if I am headed far away from the car. That is one thing nice about a machine that use's 2-9 volts as they are easy to carry with you. Know if I am headed way out in the woods to a remote site and I know that I only have an hour or 2 left then I will go ahead and change them.

be careful when you got them in your pocket,,,, they can get REAL warm if the posts get shorted out

Best way to tell is when you pinpoint starts to shut off...Hardly ever check it on the meter but when my pinpoint malfunctions I do and in go the new batteries...

Understand pinpoint takes a lot of juice and many just X the target in disc. and get much better time on a set of batteries...Common among beach hunters where digging is easy and easy to scoop out the target...
