Battery Charging

I have a v3i with the standard rechargeable battery. Is it better to charge the battery after every hunt or let it run low before recharging? I usually hunt about 2 to 6 hours per hunt, so there is plenty of charge left on the battery for another hunt. The manual says the battery can be recharged at any level of discharge, but I want to try to get the best performance and life out of the battery. What are your opinions?

I charged my batteries after every hunt and mine were still good after 2 years of heavy hunting.
