Battery charge times on a GT

Hi have only just bought my new Gt, used to have a sove 2A pro some time ago.

When I first gharged the batterys, the green light never really went out/changed/dimed.
the book says about 12 hours for it,

Can I be overcharged???? or does it have a fail save built into it.

I charge my battery overnight for 12-15 hours. When it's charged the green light shouldn't be so bright. You could also measure the voltage, it should be at about 13.5 volts when fully charged. I don't think it's possible to overcharge the unit.
