Battery burns

dirt lizard

I learned a fast lesson in battery storage Do not keep 9 volt batterys in your pocket with any change  I was hunting with a spare in my pocket and felt this awful burnining on my leg only to find out it was the battery connecting with the change in my pocket boy did that smart.

Wow, thats an old problem..Just remember to put a piece of electrical tape across the terminals an your good to go. When your ready to use the battery just peel it off.

this happens when the battery "shorts" to ground, and in this case, the coins
in your pocket is the grounding source! lesson learned!..in the past,i have always
carried my 9 volts in a plastic pill case with the batteries connectors stored "opposite"
from each other in the case, for this very reason,to prevent them form shorting to one another!
just sayin!

very true! this is another "option",and the easiest,of course, however, the plastic case i use is the correct size to "reverse" the batteries
and eliminate the problem!..just sayin!

All you need to to get 1 piece of take and wrap it across the terminals. When your ready to put the batery in remove the tape and place it around the side of the battery. When you grab a new battery put the same piece of tape on the new one and just keep moving it each time. the tape should last quite a long time.
