battery brand vs physical size myth busted imo

What prompted me to even bother with these measurements is that a friend has a detector that uses the plastic battery holders that slip into the detector under the arm cuff. His battery holders only last about 3 battery swaps before they start to crack and not be able to be used anymore.

Also thought MAYBE one battery brand was significantly taller which would provide the F70 a tighter battery fit, in case someone is having intermittent battery troubles.

These measurements were from batteries I happen to have on hand. The smallest battery in height is a carbon cell. Carbons arent used all that often however included the size as informational only. I did try the carbon in the F70 for fit and it was as good as any of the other batteries shown.

It 'seems' from the measured sizes of the brands in the pic below that any name brand battery will most likely be very close to the same size as any other brand.

Myth Busted (can you tell its raining out and I didnt have much else to do?) Do click on the pic to hopefully be able to see the text clearly above each cell.

Good post Tony, I have noticed a difference in size with the 9 volt batteries. I can't recall now for sure but I think it was a Fisher 1225-X that if I used anything other than Duracell or Energizer batteries it was a nightmare to remove them. A tip for you all - Duracell and Energizer batteries will not swell in the heat like some brands do. Steve.

For the record - I went to Walgreen's the other day and got a 2 pack of 9 volt alkalines for my F2, they were $3.99 (on sale, regularly $5.99) and seem to be good quality.

The ID Excel hugged the 9 v cells really tight! What I did was made a loop out of mono filament fishing line and placed it around the battery as I slid it in. When it was time to remove the cell, I would just pull on the excess loop and out they slid.

Now that is what I call "hanging by a thread", good idea Tony. Steve.

My pulse uses 8 D cell batteries, and at times certain batches of DURACELL won't fit.
