Batteries

I recently purchased a used Coin Strike. Yesterday I put two new energiser batteries in it. It showed nine volts. About two hours later it showed seven volts. Today it was still at seven volts after about a two hour hunt. Is this about average? Thanks Dale

When I installed the batteries the screen showed nine volts. They dropped so quickly to seven volts. Just wondered if that was normal. I'll check the new batteries next time. Thanks Everett

Normally they drop to 8 volts and hang there for a while before dropping to 7. When you are just starting out and learning the pinpoint mode you can run a set down kind of fast. But they are good down to 6. It will let you know when they are through

I've been using a couple of sets of cheap Nicads. They last about 2-1/2 hours a set, but a pair of RayOvac's will last between 20-25 hours. I typically only put 3-5 hours at a time on them.

I wonder what other folks are getting?

happy coinstriking:detecting:
