batteries

I bought some 2300 mah nickel metal hydride batteries for my mxt. then I noticed that the voltage is lower than the alkalines. Will this lower voltage affect the performance? On newly charged batteries I do not get a low battery reading.

thanks

These batteries are only 1.2 volts each, so it will give you 9.6 volts for 8 of them. It may show higher when you turn on the MXT and the battery condition is shown. This is no problem with the MXT as this is the same voltage the factory rechargeable pack is as the MXT has a voltage reg in it for the 8 alkalines that suppy 12 volts when new, but regulates it to a lower voltage.
It will make no difference in performance which batteries you use as the voltage is regulated to a lower voltage.
