Batteries

Yes they are NICAD but they will work. I never used them so I don't know their mah rating so I can't say how long they will run compared to the NIMH batteries that come with the V3i.
 
Sure, they'll work, as will the standard "aa" battery pack. My experience has been that the NICADs don't last as long as the NIMHs, and of course they have that problem of "memory" where they need to be close to completely discharged before recharging; a problem NIMHs don't have. I think the V3 will run on any good dc voltage between about 7 volts and about 14 or 15....maybe even a bit more or less. Some guys are adapting lithium polymer or silver batteries for their detectors. You can do a search regarding those..
