Batteries For E Trac???

Jerkey

New member
I'm just playing it safe here. I want to know if it's ok to use 2500 mah NIMH rechargeables in my e trac.

Thanks,

Mike

Yep, no problem. I've been using AA 2650 mAh rechargeables in my spare case for several years--they run substantially longer than the original NiCad pack.

As long as they're NImH, the higher the capacity, the better.
Just bought 8 2500 maH batteries and as Cladiator said, they last considerably longer than the Minelab sealed pack.
I can easily get a day's worth of detecting with them. If you don't have one already, i'd recommend a quick smart charger. They can typically charge dead batteries in under two hours. Most of the better chargers also have USB and car cigar lighter capabilities.

I use the Sanyo Eneloops in 2500 mah and run 30 hours or more off a set

I've been using a 3100 mah lithium with no problem!

I run the eneloope also also. I see no reason to spend the cash on the new battery system I see promoted all over when I got 16 of the 2500 mah with the charger for 30 bucks.

They've consistently been reliable for me and simple with no problems.

Now ive bought several more and we use them in lots of stuff.

good luck.

Recent improvements in battery desgn have made all the latest generation batteries considerably better than they were just a couple of years ago. i've used both the eneloop as wellas the new Duracell NiMh with good results and good running time in various devices. I see little chance of you damaging your detector.

I backed into one of the RNB's for no cost and it has been my main battery ever since primarily because of the quicker (2 hr. ) recharge time.

the thing I like about using AA rechargables over the RNB is I can use them in other devices when needed, cameras, game controllers, whatever,
