Does the minelab explorer 2 work at all in differant with the batteries or the rechargable. I always use the rechargable and have the batteries for my backup.

Never noticed any difference.. I almost always use the rechargeables
 
says that the audio is louder on most brands with alkalines as opposed to rechargeables. Haven't checked it on my Explorer yet though.
 
In laymans terms...stores power and when hooked up to a metal detector gives off the power to operate it..
