Bath time

How long have you had this bird as a pet? Have you taken many pictures of it? I love the different colors. Kelley (Texas) :)

Hi Kelly,we've had her for twelve years. She's a jenday conure and as you noticed she's beautifully coloured.I've got many photos of her.....she's quite photogenic. She is a lovely natured bird but can get a bit nasty with strangers which is common to a lot of parrots. We love her to bits.....life would'nt be the same without her.

She's a beauty. I love their colorful feathers. Do you save her feathers when she molts? When I worked at the local school, I use to save them and give them to a grade school teacher and she would have the class do a project with them for one of her lessons. It was so cool and the kids LOVED having their own colorful feather.

Larry has a Amazon Blue Front parrot also but I don't have anything to do with it since my asthma.

Neil, It's amazing what a teacher can do with those feathers. Science (how they can fly), History (when they were discovered), Geography (where they live in the wild) and of course Art. Oh, one year they even had to write a poem about the feather that they were given. Lots of interesting projects came from one bird's feathers. You might want to save yours and give them to teachers that would appreciate them. So many teachers do their own lesson plans.
