Basic Probe...

Ok, I recently bought a probe online for about $7.00
But I'm not 100% happy with it..
I am going to make a few of my own and an looking for decent handles.
I usually use a file handle but am having a little trouble locating decent wood file handles .
Any of you guys know whom carry them and which ones are just wood not some plastic handle with parts that adapt to different files?

You can go to any home improvement center. Go into the drawer pull section, look for the wooden knobs. These will fit into the palm of your hand quite nicely. They are the right dia. for 3/16" brass rods . I think they run about .50 cents each. I do use a glue on the knob and rod, so they don't pull apart
I paint the knob a bright orange, so I can find it easily in the grass or dirt from a distance. I have a habit of leaving them
This will allow you to make a probe for about a buck or more !

I use a long Phillips screwdriver found at the dollar store, if I lose it, I'm out a half buck.........

69 ford radio antenna(brass tip) deer antler handle,my Little bro supposed to send me some more antler so I can make some more.:chase:
