Baseball city......1946 Rosie.

Hello,

Went back to Baseball city this afternoon. A couple of friends of mine and I have been hitting this park almost every day lately. It still produces silver even though it's been hunted to death for a long time. Today one of my friends found a 1918 S Mercury dime there. Very nice coin. I found 3 wheaties, 1936, 1951d,
and a 1952d. It was getting late and the rest of the gang decided to get dinner at Portillos. I said , hey it's not even dark yet, but they left anyway. So I kept swinging away. I kept going over the same area that I had been over and over many times. I noticed little spot where two plugs had been dug, not three inches apart. Thought to myself, two plugs so close together, must be nothing there. I didn't even scan it. Then a bit later, going round and round, I came across this same spot. What the heck. I passed my coil over the older plugs......bingo.....got a 12-45 signal very clear and strong. I pinpointed it and the signal was right between the two plugs but a few inches toward me, and a couple of inches deep. One little dig with my Lesche and there was the glint of silver. I was like....
holy sh..t how could have this have been missed. Cleaned it up with a bit of water. 1946 Roosevelt dime. That makes 10 silver coins out of this park this year. 5 this month so far. Again it was too dark to make a video of it.
Attached is a pic of the front and back of it.

Thanks for reading and HH all.
Dan.

Just goes to show, doesn't it. Don't pass those shallow signals up either.

Congratulations on the first year of the Rosie!

Thanks,
I used to fish. That was what I did almost all of the time. Then got turned on to metal detecting. The two are connected. Each one requires patience.
Was very patient when fishing so it pays off when detecting. You never know what you will get.

Nice score there Dan!!!! Silver is silver :) I've yet to pull a silver out with my new E-Trac...

That's why they call it Dirt Fishing :) Sometimes you come home with a stringer full and sometimes not :)
